Bobby Lewis an R&B singer/songwriter was born in Indianapolis and raised in Detroit. His first hit was a huge one- “Tossin’ And Turnin'” spent 7 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. Lewis wasn’t a one hit wonder- his follow up single “One Track Mind” went to #9- but those would be hit only Top 40 hits. On most releases of the song it begins “I couldn’t sleep at all last night.” but on some versions it begins ” “Baby, baby, you did something to me.” Bobby Lewis is still living – he’s 86 now.
