629. “Let’s Work Together”- WIlbert Harrison. Sue. R&B. Written by Wilbert Harrison. B-side: “Part 2” Peaked at #32 13 weeks on the chart. Harrison had 2 Top 40 hits in his career his first being a real classic “Kansas City” back in 1959- a #1 hit. “Let’s Work Together” has been covered over the years by Canned Heat, Bryan Ferry and the immortal Bob Dylan. Grade: A.

The Meters an instrumental group from New Orleans had 2 Top 40 hits in their career- the big one being “Cissy Strut” #23. earlier in 1969. Grade: B.
All 3 of these are good ones. I didn’t remember the 2nd one by its title but immediately recognized it. The 3rd one is new to me.
