All four singles made the Top 20.

B-side:”You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” “Honky Tonk Women” was one of the biggest and best hit singles of 1969- it went to #1 and spent 4 weeks on top -and a total of 15 weeks in the Hot 100. “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”- a pretty outstanding b-side! I must admit for 50 years I thought the title of the song was “Honky Tonk Woman” Grade: A+

368. “Your Good Thing {Is About To End}- Low Rawls. Capitol. Soul. Written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter. B-side: ‘Season Of The Witch.” Lou Rawls from Chicago had 19 Hot 100 hits in his career with 7 making the Top 40. His biggest hit was “You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine” #2 in 1976. “Your Good Thing” went to #18 and spent 14 weeks in the Hot 100. Grade: B+

369. “The Nitty Gritty”- Gladys Knight and The Pips. Soul. Soul. Written by Lincoln Chase. B-side: “Got Myself A Good Man” The second of three Hot 100 singles- and Top 40 singles for Gladys Knight and The Pips in 1969- “The Nitty Gritty”- went to #19 and spent 11 weeks in the Hot 100. Grade: B-

370. “Workin’ On A Groovy Thing”- The 5th Dimension. Soul. Soul City. Written by Neil Sedaka and Roger Atkins. B-side: “Broken Wing Bird.” The Fifth Dimension had 3 Hot 100 hits in 1969- this was the middle one- sandwiched in between two singles that went to #1- “Aquarius/ Let The Sun Shine In” and “Wedding Bells”- “Workin’ On A Groovy Thing” peaked at #20 and spent 10 weeks in the Hot 100. These are all good ones. I thought it was Honky Tonk Woman not Women all this time. All 4 of these lead vocalist are stellar.
