The Sounds Of Summer: Day 80/95: “There Used To Be A Ballpark.”- Frank Sinatra. When I think of summer the first thing that comes to mind is baseball. I have been a fan since I was six years old. The song that got me interested in Sinatra was this one -from his ‘comeback” album “Ol’ Blue Eyes Is Back.” in 1973. I believe I heard the song on a show that was showing scenes from Ebbets Field. The song was written by Joe Raposo. Of course it is a song is about more than baseball- but I like to think of it as a baseball song. And summer did go by so quickly this year…. Also- today I am in Cooperstown, New York- visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Cool Hans… I’ve always wanted to go there…I should have already.
You have a little longer drive than I do- it was 9 hours to get here- with all the stops included…just over 500 miles. Beautiful area.
I will get there. Hope you have a great time and if you get some pictures hope you post them.
Will do a write up on the Hall of Fame… tomorrow is the Woodstock site!
My dad took me to Cooperstown, it was a fun day. I hope you enjoy it.
We had a great day- the Baseball Mecca. Not too crowded today- off season here has begun.
