Four singles today finish up the singles that entered the chart on June 21, 1969.”Baby Don’t Be Looking In My Mind”-Joe Simon,  “The Prophecy Of Daniel and John Divine [six-six-six}- The Cowsills, “And She’s Mine”- Spanky and Our Gang, and ” Pinch Me [Baby Convince Me}- The Ohio Express.

324. “Baby Don’t Be Looking In My Mind”-Joe Simon. Sound Stage. Soul. Written by Harlan Howard. B:Side: “Don’t Let Me Lose The Feeling.” A cover of a song by the legendary country music songwriter Harlan Howard which was originally done by Waylon Jennings. Joe Simon’s cover went to #72 and spent 5 weeks on the chart. It was the second of four Hot 100 hits for Simon in 1969. His biggest ever hit was “The Chokin’ Kind” #13 from earlier in the year. Grade: B+

325. ” The Prophecy of David and John The Divine {six-six-six}- The Cowsills. MGM. Pop. Written by Remo Capra. B-Side: ‘ Gotta Get Away From It All.” The Cowsills earlier in the year of 1969 had a #2 hit with “Hair.” “The Prophecy of David and John The Divine” peaked at #75 and spent 4 weeks on the chart. The Cowsills are best remembered as the inspiration for The Partridge Family. Grade: D-

326. “And She’s Mine”- Spanky And Our Gang. Mercury. Pop. Written by Kenny Hodges. B-side:”Leopard Skin Phones. The final of 9 Hot 100 hits for Spanky and Our Gang from 1962-69- it peaked at #97 and spent 1 week on the chart. Grade: C

327. “Pinch Me {Baby Convince Me}- Ohio Express. Buddah.  Bubblegum Rock. Written by J.J. Woods, Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz. B-side:”Peanuts” The group which gave us “Yummy, Yummy, Yummy” #4 in 1968- had 4 Hot 100 hits in 1969- the only one which made the Top 40 was “Mercy.” “Pinch Me” peaked at #99 and spent 2 weeks on the chart. Grade: C-
