- OTIS REDDING: THE BEST OF OTIS REDDING: 1972: SOUL: GRADE: A+. VINYL: 2 record set with 25 of the greatest songs of Otis Redding. Can’t go wrong with any of the selections. Around the same time I had bought a one volume greatest hits- this is the go-to one- unless you want to go even bigger and buy the box set which was released years later.

- CHUCK BERRY: 2017: ROCK: GRADE: B+. APPLE: When Chuck died a couple years back they announced that a new album -his first of new material since 1979 would soon be released- 38 years between albums. Overall a solid album.

- TONY BENNETT: SIXTY YEARS: THE ARTISTRY OF TONY BENNETT: 2013: POP: GRADE: A+: DISC 1: APPLE: Box set with 6 discs and 131 songs from Tony Bennett who is still out there at 93 touring. I haven’t listened to this box in a while- it goes in chronological order- covering his ups and downs. Excellent.
Does your mood drive the music selection or does the music decide the mood?
Sometimes I am in the mood for certain music- other times I just grab something to play..
