SUPER BOWL- NEW ENGLAND OVER PHILADELPHIA
Rivers is running out of gas so the LA Chargers must pull out all the stops this season.
Yes he can’t go on forever- seems like there are so many older quarterbacks now.
Rivers, like Fouts without any semblance of a defense under Coryell, never had the supporting cast to take it all the way.
Early on 2006 they were 14-2 and lost in round 1 of the playoffs to New England- wasn’t that the year Tomlinson was hurt? They lose and Marty was fired a big mistake. That team was pretty good but after that it kind of fell apart.
Good memory! Yeah, and young Rivers was hurt, too. Marty did a great job but couldn’t get along with the lamebrain GM, AJ Smith. Smith and Norv Turner started the ball rolling on the unraveling of the franchise that lasted ten years.
Norv may have been a great OC but he was not a guy I’d want as my head coach. Imagine going 14-2 and getting fired.
Yeah, poor Norv was in way over his head as a head coach. He was like a deer in the headlights.
It is amazing that he spent 15 seasons as a head coach for 3 teams… when it was pretty clear early on that he was in over his head.
I’ll be watching your Steelers prediction with great interest as this seems to be the year that the Browns overtake them. Our fierce pass rush might be the difference in their matchups. this year. Please – not New England again!
Could be the strongest division in the league- I don’t see Cincinnati being much of a factor though. We shall see about the Browns- a lot of talk in the off-season. If they don’t make the playoffs it will be a bad year for them.
