The Sounds Of Summer- Day 62 out of 95- “Summer Nights”- Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. This single from the soundtrack of the movie “Grease” went to #1 in the UK and #5 in the U.S. in the late summer of 1978. “Summer Nights” was the follow up the the massive #1 hit “You’re The One That I Want” by Newton-John and Travolta. There are people who really loved that movie/soundtrack back then- and to this day. I am not one of them. I include “Summer Nights” for all the Grease fanatics out there.

I like the soundtrack a lot. Would I like it if it wasn’t so integral for me? I don’t know. It’s one of those. The Archies are the same with me. I think it’s excellent bubblegum and I can make a logical argument of it’s worth, but could I if I wasn’t of my generation?…Who knows?
