In Peter Jackson I trust- I saw his documentary on World War I this past winter “They Shall Not Grow Old” and it was outstanding- not to mention his previous work- The Lord Of The Rings is my favorite ever movie- now he is taking on The Beatles Let It Be sessions and making a new documentary using the footage they had on that. It will be the 50th year of Let It Be’s release next year- hopefully the documentary will be out then?
article attached below-
55 hours of unreleased footage and 140 of unreleased audio??? My my my. I watched “The Mule” (Clint Eastwood as very old drug mule) and they had previews of Jackson’s WWI endeavor. I like how you start your post. I trust him to do The Beatles doc right also.
I think the WWI doc is out- maybe your L has it- it was wonderfully done.
As I watched the preview, it looks like he somehow animated photographs? Or superimposed soldier’s faces onto others’ animated bodies? It was hard to tell what was going on, but it looks both good and sad at the same time….
Haven’t seen the WW1 doco yet — this will be a must-see as well
