152. “Mercy” Ohio Express. Buddah.-Pop-Soul. Written by Joey Levine and Steve Feldman. B-Side: “Roll It Up.” At the beginning of March 1969 the Ohio Express had a single “Sweeter Than Sugar” spent one week at #96 before falling off of the chart. This single “Mercy” was more successful- reaching #30 and spending 8 weeks in the Hot 100. Their biggest career hit had come in 1969 with “Yummy, Yummy, Yummy” #4. Grade: C.

153. ‘Wishful Sinful”- The Doors. Electra. Rock. Written by Robby Krieger. B-side:” Who Scared You.” “Wishful Sinful” was on The Doors The Soft Parade album. it would reach #44 and spend 6 weeks on the chart. The Doors in their career had 17 Hot 100 singles- with 8 reaching the Top 40. They had two #1’s 1967’s “Light My Fire” and 1968’s “Hello, I Love You.” The b-side “Who Scared You” was one of three non-album b-sides that the Los Angeles band released during their rather short career. Grade: B-

154. “Mini-Skirt Minnie”- Wilson Pickett. Atlantic. Soul. Written by Earl Cage Jr, George Jackson and Lindell Hill. B-side: Back In Your Arms. Wilson Pickett a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee in 1991 had 38 Hot 100 singles in his career with 16 making the Top 40. His biggest hit was #6 “Land Of A Thousand Dances” His most famous song “In The Midnight Hour” # 21 1966. He was more successful on the R&B singles chart with 50 Hot 100 hits and 4 #’s Grade: B
The third one sounds like Mustang Sally and I like the flair of the musicians backing Wilson up.
