ALBUMS
- THE ASSOCIATION: THE ASSOCIATION: 1969: 2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: From the album cover you would think you’d find inside a prog rock or heavy metal album not The Association’s bland brand of pop. By this time they had had their last hit. They are still in business today touring. From looking at their line up changes they have almost had as many members in the band over their history as Madonna has had lovers.

- COUNTRY JOE AND THE FISH: HERE WE ARE AGAIN: 1969: 2 1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Country Joe and The Fish were another of those late 60’s political bands which had an exploration date of the end of the decade. This was better than the above album by The Association. I can’t see myself ever listening to either album ever again.

- PRINCE: 1999: 1982: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: This album was where Prince exploded onto the scene- his 5th album. “Little Red Corvette” is the single which opened my eyes- I then bought up his previous albums and would buy his albums upon release until the mid -90’s. Three big hits here- the title track, “Little Red Corvette” and “Delirious.” Oddly “1999” the first single peaked at #41 but after the success of “Little Red Corvette” it would be re-released and go to #12. My second favorite Prince album.

- PRINCE: PURPLE RAIN: 1984: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: The soundtrack to the movie- the music was a lot better than the movie- but the movie was alright-not great by any means. My favorite Prince album- this is the album that made him a superduper superstar. 2 #1’s with “When Doves Cry” and “Let’s Go Crazy” with”Purple Rain” #2, “I Would Die 4 U” #8 and “Take Me With U” #25.

- NEIL YOUNG: RUST NEVER SLEEPS: 1978: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: My favorite Neil and that is saying something- he has had a lot of albums that I love.
I agree about RUST NEVER SLEEPS – his best album out of many great ones.
You crossed a lot of genres this day. I can’t choose a favorite Neil Young song. I like Prince’s Purple Rain but Graffiti Bridge is my favorite Prince album.
Was their a movie for Graffiti Bridge? I know he did another movie- which I didn’t see.. that seems to ring a bell.
Yes.
RE: The Association
Yes, polyester pop. They had two songs, though, that I used to singalong to as a thirteen-year-old after being told by the prettiest girl in class that she didn’t want to go out with me; Cherish and Everything That Touches You.
From Country Joe to Prince. Yowza.
