- DONNA SUMMER: THE WANDERER: 1980: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: My favorite Summer album and her most rocking album she should have done more albums like this one. “Cold Love” my favorite Summer song- was only a minor hit. Good stuff.

- FRANK SINATRA: SEPTEMBER OF MY YEARS: 1965: 5 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: The first Frank album I bought at age 19. Nearly 40 years later the album and songs mean more to me than they did then.

- STEVE WINWOOD: ARC OF A DIVER: 1980: 4 1/2 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS:”While You See A Change” one of my favorite songs from the early 80’s- and a good album- Winwood a great voice- he should have used it more than he has.
Winwood played that whole album himself, right?
I believe so.
Good day of listening! Am about to start on disc 2 of the Brit Box….
Fantastic block of albums, Hans. I would have given them all a solid 5. I love White Girl by X. I think it’s the best song they ever did. How could you not love a band whose bad ass bassist is named John Doe? (He’s a good singer too.)
True they all could have gotten a 5!
Vampire Weekend? That’s new.
To be an American band, they sound British. And, I don’t give a f*** about the Oxford comma, either. LOL!
Another great selection, I was playing that Donna summer album only last week!
Yes that is always an enjoyable listen. I remember hearing right after that- she had recorded another rock oriented album but it was canned. I don’t know if it has ever been released or not. I found it curious that they wouldn’t release it- I remember being disappointed because I liked The Wanderer so much.
Yes, I remember the rock press bringing that up. There was some issue with Summer moving away from her older stuff when, like Dylan she journeyed into Christian faith, but I’m not sure that effected that release.
