The Beatles Cover of The Day is “Something” by Isaac Hayes. In the tradition of his version of “By The Time I Get To Phoenix”- Hayes expands another 3 minute song into an epic 12 minutes. It was released in 1970 on the album The Isaac Hayes Movement. Not something I’d listen to every day due to its length but it’s an interesting take of a Beatles classic. I don’t think Hayes matches his version of “By The Time I Get To Phoenix” though- he did have a better story line with the Jimmy Webb tune.

I’m 3:31 in and so far it’s fabulous! Like you though, not something my ants-in-pants is going to let me sit through 12 minutes of.
Not to my taste at all. George’s style was graceful, deliberate. This is jerky, with sudden changes. Each to their own, of course, but I prefer The Beatles over this one.
