The Beatles Cover of the Day is “You Won’t See Me”- Anne Murray. Anne Murray is one of those artists who was popular at one point in time- in her case the early to mid 70’s and then disappeared. I hadn’t heard an Anne Murray song for a long time until last night we were listening to the Neon Beat- and they played Danny’s Song -which made me think of her cover of “You Won’t See Me”- a Beatles song written by Paul that was on Rubber Soul. The first version of “You Won’t See Me” was the Anne Murray single in 1974 which went to #8 on the charts. John Lennon reportedly told Anne Murray that it was one of his favorite covers of a Beatles song.

She did a great job. I actually heard her version before the Beatles.
I think of her version as THE version, even though I like The Beatles version. Anne Murray had some good hits when she was in the limelight.
