The Beatles Cover of the Day is “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window” by Joe Cocker. Joe Cocker recorded “She Came In Thought The Bathroom Window’ a Paul McCartney song credited to Lennon-McCartney shortly after it was released on The Beatles Abbey Road album. On Abbey Road “She Came In Though The Bathroom Window” was part of the medley of songs on the b-side of the album. Joe Cocker would highlight the song- and it would be a hit single for him #30 in late 1969. As he did with “With A Little Help From My Friends” Cocker throws himself into this song and makes it a memorable performance.
This one is a win for me and in my mind is the version I hear when I think of this song.
Which is surprisingly often.
I think Joe outshines the originals on this and With A Little Help..
On that we agree!
I love Joe’s passion. As you said, he throws himself into it. He’s got a fabulous backup band on this! Great cover.
I’m loving these covers you’re listing. I remember this one, ’cause I love Joe Crocker. I think he outshines the originals too.
He makes those songs his own. He should have done [and Ray Charles should have also done} an album of just Beatles covers.
Oh my God! That would have been MIND BLOWING. 🙂
