- The Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and his girlfriend Marianne Faithfull were arrested at their London home and charged with possession of cannabis. They would be released on $85 bond. This was not the infamous drug bust involving the candy bar urban myth- that happened back in 1967.

- In soccer-football- European Cup A.C. Milan behind three goals from Pierino Prati defeated Ajax Amsterdam 4-1 to win the Cup which was played at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.

- Canadian politician- Mayor of Toronto from 2010-2014 Rob Ford was born on this day 50 years ago. His tenure as mayor was controversial due to substance abuse problems. He died of cancer in 2016 at the age of 46.

I still don’t understand why marijuana is illegal but alcohol is considered fine and dandy. Mm…..
