  1. Not my favorite top 40…still a few good songs though. I did buy Dire Strait’s debut album when I heard Sultans of Swing.

    • Me too- all I had to hear was Sultans Of Swing and I was sold- bought the album the next trip to the record store…. off topic- how about the Dodgers offering 4 years -180 million and being turned down by Harper.. crazy on his part.

    • It’s an epic song and that style of guitar playing was new at the time.

      I do think he was crazy to turn that down. He must not believe in himself because he could have turned around and hit a giant payday again.
      If the DH is coming…which I hope not… then he will be paid big by an NL team even if his defense keeps declining.

    • The very last place I agree. And he would have been closer to his home. From the rumors I’ve read his family wanted him to sign with the Dodgers or Giants because of that.

    • I just love Rod. I love all of his music…and I own no albums of his (go figure).

      I think he jumped the shark SEVERAL times. Eight kids from five different women. I believe he said something along these lines, once…”Instead getting married, again, I think I will just find a woman I hate and give her a house.”

      Britt Ekland was better than Alana. GEEZUS.

    • Britt Ekland- around that time is when his music started to slide. He became more interested in being a tabloid figure than an artist.
