The Rolling Stones Song of the Day is- Dandelion. Dandelion was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. It was the b-side of the We Love You single. It was the bigger hit in the US- going to #14- We Love You didn’t crack the Top 40- #50. The single was released in the late summer of 1967- both songs would have fit well onto Their Satanic Majesties Request- and would have made it a much better album- but that didn’t happen. The original title of the song was “Sometimes Happy, Sometimes Blue” which had different lyrics and was sung by Keith Richards. On Dandelion Mick sings the lead vocals. The Rolling Stones have never played this song live.
I loved this song back in the day. Haven’t listened to it in years. I’ll have to dig out my old 45 and give it a spin. Thanks for the reminder!
