The Rolling Stones Song of the Day is- Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby, Standing In The Shadow? The song was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.  It was released as an A-side single-the b-side was Who’s Driving Your Plane? Both sides of the single asked questions. As a single it reached #9 in the US and #5 in the UK. The song was recorded in August 1966 as The Rolling Stones were beginning the Between The Button’s sessions. There were a couple firsts with this song- it was the first song that Keith Richards wrote on the piano- although he didn’t play piano on the song and it was the first Rolling Stones song to feature a horn section. It was also the first Stones song released in the US and UK at the same time. The Rolling Stones hate the sound of the song- Keith has said he liked the track but hated the mix. That it needed a couple more weeks and the rhythm section was almost lost completely.  When they performed the song on The Ed Sullivan Show -Brian Jones was wearing a cast on his hand- rumored from punching a wall.
