- WEEZER: WEEZER [THE BLUE ALBUM] 1994: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: Weezer’s debut album, produced by Ric Ocasek of The Cars fame. Buddy Holly was a hit “#18 on the Hot 100 and Undone-The Sweater Song and Say It Ain’t So were also hits on the modern rock chart. A very promising debut album. My Name Is Jonas and In The Garage are other favorites.

- WARREN ZEVON: BACK LUCK STREAK IN DANCING SCHOOL: 1980: 4 STARS OUT OF 5 STARS: This seems to be an overlooked/ underappreciated Zevon album- not sure why- maybe some were disappointed- that has the follow up to Excitable Boy- there was nothing like Werewolves of London? Any album what has a song that contains the word brucellosis has something going for it though. The Boss collaborates with Warren on a song “Jeannie Needs A Shooter.” Warren writes a song about his friend the baseball Spaceman- Bill Lee. A very solid album but it does lack the handful of knockout songs that his previous two albums had. Empty Handed Heart is the closest on this album to a Warren classic.
