It was fifty years ago today- August 27, 1968- In Chicago at the Democratic National Convention- the protests in Grant Park were peaceful but in Lincoln Park things turned violent. In the Convention Hall itself CBS’s Dan Rather was roughed up as he attempted to interview a delegate who was being escorted out of the hall. The entire episode was captured on CBS’s coverage.

Amazing looking back
What’s the Frequency, Kenneth – I know it was way after this…but it jumps to my mind.
Poor Dan Rather! .. That was around the time they had peaked- with the Automatic For The People album– I know there are some who disagree but I am not a big fan of their later work- but up to say 1993 they were money.
Monster was the last thing I really really liked by them. What a raw song What’s the Frequency, Kenneth is… no overproduction on that.
The story was so strange.
