It was fifty years ago today- July 21, 1968- when Julius Boros became the oldest man to win a major tournament when he won the PGA Championship which was played at Pecan Valley Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas. The 48 year old Boros still holds that record as the oldest major winner. It was his third and final major title. Boros four round totals were 71-71-70-69=281 which was 1 over par. He beat Bob Charles and Arnold Palmer by one shot.
