Eddy Grant turns 69 today. Grant is remembered for his big hit “Electric Avenue” which came out of nowhere to hit #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1983. He only had one other hit in America “Romancing The Stone”which reached #26 in 1984. Back in the early 1970’s Grant wrote a song for his group The Equals- that was later covered by The Clash-“Police On My Back” which was on their epic “Sandinista” album.
