On this day in 1912 two major league ballparks opened. Tiger Stadium in Detroit and Fenway Park in Boston. Tiger Stadium was called Nevin Field from 1912-1938 and Briggs Stadium from 1939-1960 and Tiger Stadium from 1961-99. I have been to games at 35 past and present major league ballparks and Tiger Stadium is my all-time favourite. It was a wonderful place to see a ballgame. Fenway Park, the home of the Red Sox is still in use. Fenway is great if you have great seats and it can be an awful place to see a game if you have bad seats.
