On this day in 1916 the Chicago Cubs played their first game at Wrigley Field [Weeghman Park at that time} The Cubs won their first game at their new ballpark beating the Cincinnati Reds 7-6 in 11 innings. Currently Wrigley Field is the second oldest major league ballpark behind Fenway Park in Boston which opened in 1912. The Cubs have never won a World Series since they’ve been at Wrigley Field. The last Cubs World Championship came in 105 years ago in 1908.
