Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI turns 86 today. In a shocking move he resigned earlier in the year. Born Joseph Ratzinger in Germany in 1927, he became Pope in 2005 after the death of Pope John Paul II. I think it will be very evident before the end of the year that he had reason to resign.
