The St. Louis Rams have the 22nd pick due to the trade that allowed Washington to move up in last years draft and grab Robert Griffin. As discussed earlier the Rams need some receiver help, and they need safety help. Depending on what happens at pick 16, the Rams may go in another direction here.

With this pick however there is a need pick and a need player to fill that need on the board, and that is Safety Kenny Vaccaro. Vaccaro saw plenty of passing teams playing in the defense optional Big 12. He is a better man defender than zone and better pass protector than run stopper. Teams tend to shy away from safety’s because speed is a talent that is not coachable.

Vaccaro has a lot of talent and if he pans out will bring stability to the position for the Rams.
