The Panthers have D Line needs as well. And I think they will try to fill that need, as there is quite a bit of D Line help in this years draft. Depending on who is available, I think Carolina will take who they deem is the best of that group. Mingo could still be here, as could Lotulelei. I do not think they will reach for DeMontre Moore out of Texas A&M here, so that puts the Panthers taking Sheldon Richardson.

Richardson was one of the bright spots for the Missouri Tigers in their honeymoon season in the SEC. Richardson was Second Team All SEC and led the SEC with tackles for interior lineman with 75. Richardson has had some injury issues, and is much better in pursuit of a ball carrier than a point of attack style of defender.

At 6’2″ 294 Richardson will need to show that he has the physicality to handle and shed blockers, but his ceiling makes him worth the pick here for the Panthers.

So with the 14th pick the Carolina Panthers will select Sheldon Richardson, DL, Missouri.
