The Greatest Athlete To Wear #33 {Kareem Abdul-Jabbar}

The Greatest Athlete To Wear #33 is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Notable #33’s-a number of great #33’s. My second favourite basketball player of all time Larry Bird [Bill Russell is my favourite all time basketball player} Patrick Ewing,Alonzo Mourining, Scotty Pippen and David Thompson were all great basketball players. Patrick Roy is one of the greatest goalies ever in hockey. Sammy Baugh was the greatest quarterback in the early days of the NFL. Tony Dorsett a Hall of Fame running back for the Cowboys.In baseball Eddie Murray was one of the most consistant players of the past 40 years.

The Greatest Athlete To Wear #33 is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Now it pains me to name him as the greatest #33 because I have always rooted for the Celtics and hated the Lakers but you know what- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the greatest #33. As Lew Alcindor he was the greatest player in the history of College Basketball. 3 National Titles at UCLA in 3 seasons. He was unstoppable. As a pro he is one of the 5ive greatest players in the history of the NBA. He was on 6 NBA Championship teams and won 6 MVP Awards. He is the all-time leading scorer in NBA history. Jabbar is a curious case though. He is probably the most unloved NBA star or even sports star. People loved say Bird, Magic, Jordan… those guys played passionately. You could tell they loved the game. Jabbar’s style was totally different. People at times even said he wasn’t trying. No one could have done what he did and not have cared. He was always just poker faced. He rarely showed any emotion. One moment I will always remember is Magic Johnson’s first NBA game. Jabbar wins the game at the end and Magic runs over and jumps in his arms. Jabbar’s response- “Don’t ever do that again.” Jabbar was hard to understand. What a great player though. He had the most unstoppable shot in the history of basketball-that great sky hook. Jabbar- yes the greatest #33.

  1. Again I have to say that I thoroughly disagree… Bird was the best at it all! Even, well-balanced, fair, tough, consistent and I WENT TO COLLEGE WITH HIM!!!!! Indiana State at Terre Haute! He was in one of my classes! Loved him ever since then and he was always nice to the fat, ugly girl who sat beside him. Nice guy! I also went to high school with Don Mattingly at Memorial High School in Evansville, Indiana. I was in a class with him. He was a good guy but never talked to the fat, ugly girl… me! Thanks! Lots of love, Emily
