The Greatest Athlete To Wear #52 is Ray Lewis-the recently retired linebacker from the Baltimore Ravens.
Notable #52’s- Lewis beats out the great center from the Steelers 1970’s dynasty Mike Webster, one of the greatest centers of all times. Frank Gatski played in 11 championship games in 12 seasons with the Browns. He’s in the Hall of Fame. Pepper Johnson was a fine linebacker in the 1980’s with the Giants. In baseball C.C. Sabathia has been one of the best pitchers in baseball in recent years. Mike Boddicker had some fine years with the Orioles. In hockey Adam Foote was an excellent defenseman for Colorado. In basketball-Buck Williams seemed to play forever-17 seasons. A great rebounder. Happy Hairston was a pretty good forward for the Lakers back in the late 1960’s-early 70’s-playing along with Wilt and Jerry West.
The Greatest #52 is Ray Lewis. Ray Lewis played 17 seasons with the Ravens. He made 13 Pro Bowls. He is a 2 time Super Bowl champion. He was the leader of the Ravens defense in all those seasons. I hated Ray Lewis [being a Steelers fan} but I sure wish he had played his career with the Steelers instead of the Ravens. What a great player. It pains me to rank Lewis ahead of Mike Webster but he has to be ranked as the greatest #52.

i was expecting webster honestly.
I had to be honest about it. Webster was great- Lewis was greater for a longer period of time..both were two of the best at their positions.
