On this day in 1964 the assassin of the assassin- Jack Ruby was found guilty of the ‘murder with malice’ of Lee Harvey Oswald the assassin of President John Kennedy. Ruby was sentenced to die in the electric chair. It was the first courtroom verdict to be televised in the United States. Jack Ruby aka Jacob Leon Rubenstein would die in prison of cancer at the age of 55 on January 3rd, 1967.

thats a pretty quick turnaround for a trial and a verdict. now days we would still be trying to find a venue, or have his stupid lawyers saying that he was misunderstood as a child.
when i first read that my first reaction was the same as yours.. and to double-check it- less than 4 months after killing oswald his trial was over..
