Albert Einstein was born this day in 1879 in Wurttemburg, Germany. Einstein’s theories of special and general relativity drastically altered science’s view of the universe, and his work in particle and energy theory helped make possible quantum mechanics and the atomic bomb.

I remember as the 20th Century was coming to an end- I knew Time Magazine would be naming a “Person Of The Century.” Their “Man of the Year” choices were not always- someone positive. The award went to the person who had the biggest impact on the world that year. I thought it would come down to Einstein or Hitler. I was glad Einstein got the nod.
