In a speech in Orlando, Florida to the National Association of Evangelicals President Ronaldus Magnus make his first reference to the Soviet Union as an “Evil Empire.” He would take a lot of flack for some of his comments about the Soviets. Everyone seemed to be afraid of calling something what it was. They were afraid of angering them. Reagan called them what they were. In less than a decade, incredibly they would be no more.
