In the picture Gifford looks dead. The story goes that after the game the Giants were walking towards their locker room underneath the stadium. A man had died in the stands of a heart attack and was in a room with a sheet pulled over his head. When the Giants walked by that room and looked in they thought it was Gifford. As it was Frank Gifford missed a season because of that hit and his career was cut short because of it.
