  1. I remember that game! We were living in Oregon and my mom and I watched the young US team win against all expectations – at some point during the game the ecstatic excited newsmen on the East Coast announced the outcome as they were so overcome by the upset win. …Later they returned on the air (after the game) to apologize over and over for “ruining” it for those of us on the West Coast. I can only say that we could care less as we were way too ecstatic ourselves after experiencing such an amazing victory. Thanks for this post and the memories you brought back!—Jadi
