William L. Shirer was born this day 1904. William L. Shirer will always be remembered most for his monumental history on Nazi Germany “The Rise And Fall of the Third Reich” which was one of the great works of history-non-fiction for the 20th century. He wrote a number of books, the most interesting being the ones dealing with Nazi Germany and his autobiography. He had lived and worked in Nazi Germany as a correspondent from 1934-40. He died in 1993 at the age of 89.
