The Greatest Athlete To Wear #80 {Jerry Rice}

The Greatest Athlete to Wear #80 is a no-brainer- it’s the greatest wide receiver in the history of the NFL and one of its all time greatest players Jerry Rice.

Other notable #80’s- a number of Hall of Fame receivers Cris Carter, Tom Fears, Steve Largent and James Lofton and some receivers who were very good-Isaac Bruce, Henry Ellard, Irving Fryar, Eric Moulds, Curtis Conway, Andre Rison, Cris Collingsworth and Tony Hill. A Hall of Fame tight end-and one of the greatest tight ends ever Kellen Winslow wore #80.

Jerry Rice stands out as the greatest #80. A couple years ago the NFL Network named Rice the greatest football player of all-time. I do not agree with that-my vote goes to Jim Brown as the greatest player ever but Rice is certainly in that discussion. Jerry Rice in his 20 seasons in the NFL [most notably with the San Francisco 49ers} rewrote the record books. Rice was named to 13 Pro Bowls, he caught 1549 passes for 22,895 yards and 208 touchdowns, all records and no one is ever close to those records he is so far in front. He is a 3 time Super Bowl champion. Montana to Rice the greatest passing combination in NFL history.
