The Beatles first album “Please Please Me” was recorded on this day 50 years ago. Monday February 11th, 1963 was a busy day for The Beatles. They began at 10am with producer George Martin at Abbey Road Studios and finished 10 hours later. The first album was recorded in a day in 3 3 hour sessions. What they were basically recording was their live act at the time. Eight of the fourteen songs were Beatle originals the others were covers. The final track recorded was “Twist And Shout” with John Lennon’s terrific performance[he had a very bad cold and his voice was about shot but he got “Twist And Shout” on one take!} The album would be released on March 22nd, 1963.
