As was The Beatles habit back in the day a lot of their great songs were released as single but not included on an album. John called it one of their ‘eyeball to eyeball songs.” John Lennon:vocal, rhythm guitar and handclaps/ Paul McCartney: vocal, bass guitar and handclaps/ George Harrison: harmony vocal, lead guitar and handclaps/ Ringo Starr: drums and handclaps. The song was recorded on October 17th, 1963 at Abbey Road. Producer: George Martin. “I Want To Hold Your Hand” was released in the United Kingdom as the A side of the single on November 29th, 1963. The b-side was “This Boy.” In the United States “I Want To Hold Your Hand” was released as a single on December 26th, 1963 with the b-side being “I Saw Her Standing There.”

John and Paul wrote this in October of 1963 while taking a much needed break from touring. In the United Kingdom “I Want To Hold Your Hand” was the first Beatles “Christmas hit.” In America “I Want To Hold Your Hand” came along after the assassination of President Kennedy and helped to lift America out of its gloom. “I Want To Hold Your Hand” was a game changer. I Want To Hold Your Hand” {Lennon-McCartney}

Oh yeah, I’ll tell you something
I think you’ll understand
When I’ll say that something
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
Oh please, say to me
You’ll let me be your man
And please, say to me
You’ll let me hold your hand
I’ll let me hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
And when I touch you
I feel happy Inside
It’s such a feeling that my love
I can’t hide I can’t hide I can’t hide
Yeah, you’ve got that something
I think you’ll understand
When I’ll say that something
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
And when I touch you
I feel happy Inside
It’s such a feeling that my love
I can’t hide I can’t hide I can’t hide
Yeah, you’ve got that something
I think you’ll understand
When I’ll feel that something
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
I wanna hold your hand
