Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Fran Tarkenton turns 73 today- on Super Bowl Sunday. Fran would rather forget his Super Bowl experiences I would reckon. He led the Minnesota Vikings to three Super Bowls in the 1970’s and Tarkenton and the Vikings laid an egg each time. In those three games they scored a total of 3 touchdowns. I remember people hoping the Vikings wouldn’t make the Super Bowl just because the Vikings in the Super Bowl would mean a Super Bore. Tarkenton had three awful Super Bowls.

Tarkenton was an outstanding quarterback. He was exciting to watch. He was known for his scrambling ability. He was one of the shortest quarterbacks. To be honest I never thought much of him. He was exciting and was a great stats quarterback but if I wanted to win a big football game I wouldn’t care to have him as my quarterback. Fran The Flop.
