The Greatest Athlete To Wear #93 {John Randle}

The Greatest Athlete to Wear #93- NFL Hall of Famer John Randle. I chose Randle over hockey Hall of Famer Doug Gilmour in a close decision.

Other notable #93’s-football defensive linemen Trace Armstrong, Greg Townsend, Richard Seymour and Gilbert Brown and hockey’s Petr Nedved and Daren Puppa.

Runner-up Doug Gilmour played for seven teams in his Hall of Fame career. He scored 450 goals and 964 assists in his career and was known as an outstanding defensive forward. He starred on the 1988-89 Stanley Cup Champion Calgary Flames. He was nicknamed “Killer” for his physical play despite his small statue. He was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011.

My selection as the greatest #93 is John Randle who was a 7 time All-Pro defensive tackle with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. During his career he recorded 137.5 sacks and was a member of the all-1990’s NFL team. Randle was also known for his face painting and trash talking. They say he never shut up. He has the second most sacks of any defensive tackle behind only Alan Page.
