The #96 has not had much of a history. It won’t be until we hit the 80’s that the numbers will become more interesting and the choices more debatable. There are not many #96’s. The best by far is Cortez Kennedy. Kennedy was an 8 time All Pro with the Seattle Seahawks during his 11 year career. Last year he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was one of the best defensive tackles in the game the past twenty years.

Other #96’s- football defensive lineman Clyde Simmons and Stan Jones who had fine careers. The second best #96 though is a hockey player who just retired Tomas Holmstrom who played his entire career with the Detroit Red Wings- he scored 243 goals/ 287 assists during his career and played on 4 Stanley Cup Champions.

pavel bure wore 96 for a time as well, but he is mostly remembered for 10
Thx for including Holmstrom.
