
Stanley Karnow a veteran journalist known for his book “Vietnam: A History” which was the basis for the tremendous PBS Series back in the 1980’s “Vietnam: A Television History” has died at the age of 87. Karnow’s reporting on Vietnam from 1959 to 1974 earned him a place on Dick Nixon’s master list of political opponents. He was in Vietnam when the first American was killed there in 1959. He reported the Vietnam War in its entirety. Karnow also won the 1990 Pulitzer Prize for History for his book “In Our Image: America’s Empire In The Philippines”
