NFL Great Junior Seau Born This Day 1969

The late Junior Seau was born on this day in 1969. Junior Seau was the fifth overall pick in the 1990 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers- out of USC. Seau would go on to play 13 seasons with the Chargers, 3 seasons with the Miami Dolphins and his final 4 seasons with the New England Patriots. In total Junior Seau played 20 years in the NFL. He was a 12 time Pro Bowler. Seau was one of the great linebackers of his time. No question he will go into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Sadly, last May 2nd Junior Seau took his life by shooting himself in the chest. His brain has been tested and the conclusion is that he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy {CTE} a chronic brain injury that has been found in other deceased former NFL players. The NFL has a problem and when one of their greatest players commits suicide the problem becomes bigger. They had problems Junior Seau’s suicide became their worst nightmare. I don’t know what the answer is. Football is a violent game. I don’t know how you can change this game and illiminate the toll it is going to take on the men who play the game.
