If they were to name a “Player of the Century” for the first dozen years of the new century in baseball the winner would be Albert Pujols. Albert Pulols starred with the St. Louis Cardinals from 2001 until 2011. He is currently with the Los Angeles Angels. Pujols is a 9 time All-Star and a 3 time National League MVP. He has so far hit 425 home runs, 1434 RBI’s and has a career batting average of .325. He already has 2246 career hits. If he retired today he would be a first ballot Hall of Fame I would think. Last season his first in the American League was kind of sub par for him. It will be interesting this season to see if that was a trend or just a slightly off-season. The Angels signed him to 10 year $210 million dollar contract. I think they made a big mistake and I think he made a big mistake, he should have stayed in St. Louis.
