Elvis Presley was born on this day in 1935 in a shotgun shack in Tupelo, Mississippi. I wouldn’t put Elvis in my personal Top 25 favourite music artists list but I am a fan. I recognize his greatness and have a lot of his music. I like to listen to some Elvis now and then. I think his greatest music was made before he became famous-back at Sam Phillips- Sun Studio’s in Memphis. I would highly recommend “The Sun Sessions” to anyone who wants to hear Elvis in his prime. In honor of Elvis Presley’s birthday I am going to listen to The Sun Sessions on my way to work and back. I think people have forgot how great a singer he was. The focus is too much on his celebrity.
What a sad story he became. When he died in 1977 I wasn’t really that shocked. {Like when Michael Jackson died it wasn’t a shock to me} Its sad what fame can do. Some people handle it better than others.
