Author Richard Ben Cramer has died of lung cancer at the age of 62. Richard Ben Cramer wrote one of the best books I’ve ever read. In 1988 he followed a number of the presidential candidates and wrote a thousand page book about them. “What It Takes” is along with “Fear and Loathing On The Campaign Trail ’72” by Dr. Hunter S. Thompson one of the two best books I’ve read on politics/presidential campaigning. Cramer also wrote an excellent book that came out a decade ago on the great Joe DiMaggio.
