Theo Epstein- The Boy Who Ended The Curse Of The Bambino- 39 Today

Theo Epstein turns 39 today. In 2002 the Boston Red Sox named Theo Epstein their General Manager. Theo Epstein at 28 became the youngest General Manager in Major League Baseball history. In 2004 the Red Sox won their first World Series since 1917. They won again in 2007. A few of Epstein’s deals were a huge help the Red Sox over the top- getting Big Papi David Ortiz, Curt Schilling and Kevin Millar.

In 2011 Epstein left the Red Sox to become President of Baseball Operations for the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs haven’t won the World Series since 1908 and haven’t been to a World Series since the year we dropped the bomb on Japan-[1945} If Epstein can somehow bring a  World Series title to Wrigley he deserves immediate induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He sure has his work cut out for him in Chicago.
