here at slicethelife we want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

Thank you for all of the follows, comments, and for all of your blogs and things that we have been able to follow, link to and to visit. It is always fun to see others perspectives, thoughts, and insights on things.

This last year has been Dickensonian for me – it has been the best of times and the worst of times. Thankfully the things that made it the worst of times have come to an end and things are only heading up.

My favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption. There is a line said by Tim Robbins as Andy Dufresne, and later repeated by Morgan Freeman as Ellis Redding, that is appropriate for a lot of things in life – ‘Get busy living, or get busy dying’; there are a lot of things that happen to us each day. We have a choice to make – play a victim and blame others for things, or choose to forgive them, take responsibility for our own thoughts and actions – no matter what others say or do – and live the responsible way.

Once anyone has convinced themselves that they are a victim of something – there is nothing that they will not be able to convince themselves of. Choose to overcome. It makes victory that much sweeter.
