Pop And R&B Singer Lee Dorsey Born This Day In 1924/ “Working In A Coal Mine” Video

New Orleans pop and R&B singer Lee Dorsey was born on this day in 1926. Dorsey had 5ive Top 40 hits in the 1960’s- his biggest were “Ya-Ya” which hit #7 in 1961 and “Working In A Coal Mine” which hit #8 in 1966. “Ya-Ya” would be covered by John Lennon in his album of rock and roll classics “Rock and Roll”  Dorsey died of empysema at the age of 61 in 1986.
